Swamp Tour!
I really would have preferred one of the 'thrilling' airboat rides but Bob's pretty much done with any rides billed as 'thrilling' after Disney World. Not wanting to tempt the gators we leave Willie HOME ALONE with the cats and head deep into the swamp.

Thought it might be a quiet day at Jean Lafitte, only a few cars in the lot, but it wasn't long before the buses arrived. Still they only used two of the six or seven boats moored at the docks. Ours was full as the captain prepared for departure but he paused and waited for the family of seven who sprinted aboard. I was ashamed for the people who wouldn't make room for the late comers. Could it have had something to do with the fact that it was a bi-racial family? Not cool in my book.

The captain brought along his pet alligator. It was a couple of years old and everyone had the chance to hold it!

We enjoyed the tour and learned a little more about the ecosystem and wildlife. Willie survived and greeted us with loud whining and yelping. Funny, funny noises. Poor baby. Actually it's harder on Bob than Willie. (I think)
