Dance Dialogue - Indiana (Part 2) - June 2012

Finally, Part 2! Last you knew we were in Indiana having suspension work done on the trailer in Elkhart. We picked up the rig and got out of town for the weekend as we had an appointment with Heartland Service on Monday morning. Stayed at Spaulding Lake Campground in Niles, Michigan. Day tripped to Lake Michigan and found a dog beach at Warren Dunes State Park.

Willie had the most fun playing with a rock in the sand. After awhile though he started hacking. Maybe he'd swallowed some of that fine Michigan sand.
On with part 2 of Indiana.  Dropped the rig at Heartland and was told they'd need to keep it for 2 to 3 days. Dang! We were hoping they would align the bedroom slide out and clean up the residue left from the first repair (in a day?) Well, we really didn't plan for that (not that we had planned for anything at all) so we quickly grabbed what we thought we'd need, left the cats there and went to find a hotel.

Willie started acting weird again and we were worried he'd eaten something he shouldn't have. We spent the next three days going from the service bay to check on the rig progress and to the vets office as Willie got worse.  He'd stopped eating and drinking. We also changed hotels, boy was that a good decision! For about the same money the first place was a dump and the second quite nice. Thumbs down to Red Roof Inn. Thumbs up to Jameson Inns! Turns out Willie had indeed ingested a great amount of sand. He did finally pass the sand and we were lucky to avoid surgery.

Side note: I've never seen Bob so happy about Willie having a bowel movement!  He waved the poo baggy at me and burst forth with the news that it was FULL OF SAND!

We were happy to get our home back but needed to kill some time before heading south into the heat wave for the Riley Family Reunion. So back to Michigan we went.  Stayed at Fisherman's Landing in Muskegon for a couple of days and then at a KOA in Covert.  Day tripped to South Haven where we just missed the finish of the 74th Annual Queen's Cup Sailboat Race. Got lots of pictures of the harbor though...

We enjoyed temps in the 80's and then it was time to head south into the heat...
Next post Riley Reunion!

  1. Even though I am looking forward to the reunion posting, what happened to Colorado? You were my advance team . . . :-)

Glad Willie is ok, health troubles on the road are no fun.

    Safe travels!
